Play Canberra’s most unique golf course
Play will commence with a shotgun start for each session and continue throughout the day until the final tee time of 7:30pm. Players must register for a tee time and tee times are subject to availability.
Four players are allocated to each group – scoring will be on a individual basis. Players must arrive and register attendance no later than 30 minutes before their allocated tee time. With ten holes to play, there will be 40 players on the course at each tee time.
Players are not permitted to bring their own clubs or balls. Golfers will play with equipment provided by Callaway.
An automated shot clock will keep play on track and keep your group moving between holes. You will have one minute per player, per hole to play 3 shots (excluding the Sports Bar putt, which will be one ball putted out) and four minutes to move between holes. Approximately 90 minutes will be allocated per round.
Your caddie will keep individual scores on the team scorecard as you play each hole. Only your best shot will count (1 score per hole plus the Sports Bar putt). At the end of the round, scores will be added up and displayed on a Sport Bar screen.
Scores to be based on:
- Birdie – hit within the coloured zone (2.5m radius of the hole)
- Par – hit within the marked green area
- Bogey – just miss the green (Anywhere on the playing surface)
- Double bogey – completely miss the area (In the seating or concourse area)
- The ultimate goal is a hole-in-one – can you do it?
GIO Stadium Golf course is made up of 10 holes. 9 stadium golf holes plus one Sports Bar putt.
Players will tee off from nine raised platforms (‘tee boxes’) purpose-built for the event at each tee location. Green target areas are located on the field (players will not enter on to the field surface). One putting hole is located inside the Sports Bar – West Lounge, this is the only hole to be putted out during the round. The nine stadium hole lengths vary from 77m – 110m and tee elevation varies from the forecourt level to level 5 of the stands.
Each group will be allocated a caddie, your caddie will escort you to your starting tee and guide you around the stadium. They will provide advice on each hole and stadium insights as you walk between each tee box. This is not your average game of golf – players will need to stick to schedule. All players are required to follow the direction and instruction of caddies at all times.
The lowest female and male score for the entire event will win two tickets to the Stadium Sports Lounge for a 2020 Brumbies or Raiders fixture.
The lowest female and male score per session will be awarded a dozen Callaway balls.
